July 10, 2020: The term “automation” is broad and can mean different things to different people. For some organizations, writing a script to push a configuration change on a load balancer is sufficient automation to replace a manual step and save time. For others, a collection of vendor-specific tools that control individual network components is the preferred level of automation.
