The advent of the digital transformation is driving the need for a new approach to managing networks. Automation is the solution answering that call, and organizations everywhere – in nearly every industry – are adopting it at an exponential rate. By leveraging automation capabilities within the network, organizations are moving faster, enforcing compliance more efficiently, eliminating errors and reducing costs.

As in Gartner’s Market Guide for Network Automation, the report finds, “By 2021, productized network automation tools will be used by 45% of organizations, which is an increase from fewer than 10% today.”

AppViewX has been named as a Representative Vendor in the recently published Market Guide for Network Automation by analysts Vivek Bhalla and Sanjit Ganguli.

According to the analysts, “Network automation tools enable network operations staff to gain process and configuration agility, while ensuring compliance”.

Gartner defines the network automation market “as tools that automate the visibility, troubleshooting, reporting and maintenance of virtual and physical network device configurations, supporting opportunities to lower costs, reduce human error and improve compliance with configuration policies.” The report identifies four distinct sub-segments of network automation—Network Configuration and Change Management (NCCM), Orchestration, Policy-Based Automation (PBA), and Intent-Based Networking Systems (IBNS).

According to the report, “to optimize and transform IT operations, infrastructure and operations leaders responsible for managing network infrastructure should prioritize the process-driven, agile and business-aware characteristics of a NetOps 2.0 culture above technology procurement by adopting the right methodologies and harnessing a receptive cultural environment, so that new tooling is effective.”

The AppViewX Platform automates third-party best-of-breed and open source network services such as those provided by application delivery controllers, security devices, certificate authorities, DNS servers, routers/switches, and more.

AppViewX offers automation and orchestration tools to address network and application service requests, namely AppVision and Visual Workflow.

  • AppVision provides end-users a new and compelling topology view for managing application and network infrastructure services, as well as initiating role-based automated workflows.
  • Visual Workflow provides an intuitive and visual system for designing self-serviceable, event-driven, intelligent, and automated workflows.

It is designed for NetOps striving to adapt to new technologies, processes and application delivery expectations. It allows users to automate service requests across multi-vendor and hybrid infrastructure from a visual view. It also integrates with best-in-class IT service management solutions for governing and recording the service requests being executed in the automated workflow.
